The Magic Coat Foundation is thrilled to be partnering with Sorrento Surf Life Saving Club to support children in their first experiences at the beach.
As many children can have some fear and anxiety about the beach, such as the waves, sand, sea creatures and others, we have created a specially adapted version of the book that prepares children as they start a new adventure as a “Nipper”.
At the Beach with your Magic Coat will help parents to have a common language with their young child while they build resilience and the knowledge that they have everything they need to be okay on this new adventure.
We will regularly work alongside Age Managers and parents to assist them with strategies and tools that can be used specifically at the beach to encourage children to keep trying and not give up, so that they can have a positive relationship with the beach and ocean for the rest of their life.
This is an exciting partnership that will continue to evolve to best support children’s mental health and wellbeing in this environment.
